Most mesophytic plants have leaves with a single upper and lower epidermis, stomata on both
surfaces, have well developed xylem, phloem, palisade and spongy parenchyma. There are some specialized adaptations
to light intensity which may be found in mesomorphic leaves. Xerophytic
and hydrophytic leaves on the other hand, show a greater variety of adaptations.
